ML Tech is seeking a motivated contributor with a drive to operate in a high-growth environment and strong experience in accounting and financial operations. The position will be an entrusted cross-functional business partner supporting the Finance and Operations department. The ideal candidate has excellent attention to detail, experience with complex accounting topics, process standardization and an ability to communicate complex ideas with a wide array of stakeholders.
1) What You’ll Do:
- Develop financial management strategies to reduce financial risk, provide relevant recommendations to maximize profits and assisting executives in decision making.
- Monitor reporting systems, prepare accurate financial reports and statements, prepare all financial documents and ensure adherence to industry regulations.
- Manage accounting, budget, cash flow and review cost-reduction strategies.
- Develop long-term and strategic business plans and help organize new funding strategies.
- Develop external relationships with auditors, bankers and other statutory organizations.
- Analyze fluctuations in the Company's balance sheet and income statement and present explanations for significant variances.
- Perform financial analysis and forecasting.
- Develop and document process flows and procedures to operationalize, implement new and/or relevant accounting standards to aid operations and compliance.
- Develop new/enhance existing accounting policies and procedures, and internal controls over financial reporting.
- Provide investors and other stakeholders with requested information in a timely manner.
- Be an essential part of the annual audit with both internal and external auditors and executive management.
- Play a critical part in the strategic planning and development of process flows and procedures to operationalize researcher, investor and solicitor onboarding.
- Drive performance fee automation.
2) What We’re Looking For:
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as accounting, finance, economics or business.
- At least five years of relevant work experience in an accounting or financial role, such as an accountant, auditor, or financial analyst.
- The ability to analyze financial data and interpret trends and patterns.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to make decisions and determine the best course of action.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, spreadsheets, and data and financial analysis tools.
- A professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus.
